Today’s animation is a quartz Kanawha Point found during archaeological investigations at Marine Corps Base Quantico. Using a liberal coating of a talc-like powder, it was scanned by now Virginia Commonwealth University alumnus Clinton King on October 10, 2011.  The object was at that time on loan from the Fort Lee Regional Archaeological Curation Facility (RACF), but has since been returned. Researchers can access this digital data file without having to travel to RACF .
