Today’s animated object is an American bullet recovered from the Utah Beach landing site and dates to the June 6, 1944 D-Day offensive. The artifact was made available for scanning in the Virtual Curation Laboratory by teacher James Triesler of Clover Hill High School in Midlothian, Virginia. He and his students are creating a digital archive of World War II letters: http://www.ittookawar.com/Index/flakindex.html.
