Animation of the Day: American Campaign Medal

by John Bush, Intern in the Virtual Curation Laboratory

Today’s animated object is a medal that was presented to Army Air Corps Captain Greenville Wright for his service in the American Campaign during the Second World War.  Captain Wright, my great-grandfather, served as an Artillery Officer at Fort Monroe, which defended Hampton Roads with passive countermeasures including anti-submarine nets, and active artillery including 16 inch disappearing cannons.
